I’ve come across another brilliant advert on Gumtree (which has now been removed from the website) which I found hilarious. I don’t know who, why or what, but I like.

It reminds me of a north London firm of estate agents, now long gone. I think they were called Ferme Sales. They used to describe properties they were marketing using quite derogatory language. Their newspaper ads and property details certainly stood out! Anyone remember them?

Ahh unfortunately I've never seen or heard about that. Would be great if someone could dig out samples! I'd like to take a look at their marketing methods :)

Hi David and "the landlord", I was one of the two partners that started "Ferme Sales" estate agents in 1983 in a small office @ 3 Ferme Park Road,Stroud Green I cant take all the credit for writing the adverts it was the idea of my partner "dell", but together over the years we received some awards and notably one from campagne magazine. My favorite ad that comes to mind was around November 5th and we led with a headline " Buy Now For Fawkes Sake" I still have a lot of our material if anyone is interested.

I am the notorious "Del" side of the partnership that was Ferme Sales and I have a full library of our outstanding material that we paraded through the local North London News papers
People described our advertising as a cross between Viz and Private eye!!!
One of my favorites was the headline from 1984
MASS DEBATE IN STROUD GREEN!
The question is:
Is Ferme Sales the best estate agent in this area!
Out of the box for the time.... What about our cinema adverts.... Anyone remember them?

If I remember correctly Ferme sales did a good line in gazundering which came unstuck in a big way
