It was inevitable, really. As soon as we were able to order bog-rolls off Amazon (which I’ve literally done before), it was only a matter of time before we were given the tools to compare, buy and book the installation of boilers online in a matter of minutes.
Yup, there’s a new wave of online boiler supply and installation companies that have made it easy-peasy to:
- access instant and competitive fixed price quotes (no hidden extras);
- compare boilers from the best brands that’s suitable for your home;
- book a convenient date for an expert installer to install it for you (within as quickly as 24 hours).
All it takes is a few lousy minutes.
Goodbye to having to painstakingly shop around for boilers and installers, and hello digital world!
On that note, let’s take a look at your best options (and how it all works)…

How Online Boiler Supply & Installation Fixed Price Quote Websites work…
From what I’ve seen, they generally all work in very similar ways, and that’s because it’s a very simple process…
1) Describe your requirements & current setup
Answer a few questions about your home and your current boiler, and then allow an algorithm to crunch through the details to determine which available boilers are suitable for your circumstances.
2) Free instant, fixed quotes
They will recommend a selection of packages (boiler & installation) available to you. The price they show will be the fixed price.
3) Book & pay
If you’re happy, you can choose an install date.
You can pay using finance options, or pay it all upfront. Some even offer “buy now, pay later” options.
4) Supply & installation
Your boiler will typically be delivered before installation, and then shortly after, your installer will arrive and fit it for you.
I do want to clarify that while all these websites operate in very similar ways, there’s obviously a reasonable chance of differences. Although, I suspect they won’t be major. For example, the payment plan options may vary.
Which is the best Boiler Supply & Installation website? Which one should you use?
I know, I know, the stark similarities between all of the [best rated] services listed is disheartening. Don’t shoot the messenger!
There doesn’t seem to be one glaring USP from any one of service providers’, at least not from where I’m sitting. If they do have one, they’ve hidden it pretty well, because it wasn’t obvious to me when I went sniffing around.
I honestly can’t recommend one over another, because:
- They all seem to provide the same service at a high standard (based on the reviews)
- 4/5 offer some sort of “price match” incentive, so presumably one won’t be cheaper than the other.
- They all supply boilers manufactured by the most reputable brands, including Vaillant, Baxi and Worcester BOSCH. However, you may find some differences in stock, which might be the clincher for you!
Besides from the TrustPilot scores (which may or may not sway you), I think choice in boilers might be the only real tangible differences (although, I’m sure many will offer the same boilers).
I suggest getting a few quotes from a couple of the websites to determine if one stands out and wins you over (for whatever reason). Another point to bear in mind is they all seem to offer “up to 10 years warranty”, so it might be worth noting to see if one offers longer warranty period on specific boilers. I can’t understate how useful and valuable warranties can be for boilers. This is one of those cases where longer is definitely better *cough*
Oh, and if a representative from any of the companies listed happens to tumble into this blog post, and has the urge to chime in and explain what their USP is (or why we should use them over their competitors), feel free to drop a comment. We’re all ears. But please, don’t drown us with generic, intangible sales guff, like “we’re the hardest workers”
Or maybe, simply there really aren’t any differences.
So should you use a Supply & Installation boiler website?
It’s up to you really, but there’s certainly no harm in getting a quote from one or two of them at the very least.
Perhaps it might help to list a few of the most prominent reasons for why so many do use online boiler services:
- You get an instant quote and fixed price (no hidden extras)!
- Generally speaking, they’re significantly cheaper than going down the traditional route of finding a local service. Reason being is that these online companies benefit from “economies of scale”, meaning that, because they deal in such large volumes they’re able to get better rates from the boiler manufacturers, which they pass on.
- They allow you to quickly view and compare a large range of suitable boilers for your house.
- It’s quick and easy to find a boiler and book an installer.
- Finance is available directly from the website.
I first stumbled upon one of these all-in-one “boiler supply and installation websites” when a boiler in one of my rental properties decided to shit on my day and go kaput. Bloody nightmare. Not just for me, for my tenant too, of course.
From a landlord’s perspective (and a tenant’s, actually), a boiler is the last appliance you want going tits-up, because not only do they cost an arm-and-a-flipping-leg to repair and replace, but they’re also responsible for two critical features of any home, heat and hot water.
Believe you me, as soon as a boiler decides to pack-up in a rental property, a landlord will know about it immediately, and they won’t stop hearing about it until it’s back-up and running, and rightly so.
I had already thrown money at the boiler on repairs over the previous few years, so I knew it wouldn’t be economical to throw more. Basically, the piece of junk had failed me for the last time – it was destined for the scrap heap.
That’s when I started looking around for quick (and cheap) solutions, and that’s when I came across BOXT’s service (that’s the first time I discovered a boiler supply and install website).
Short story made even-shorter: I wasn’t disappointed, and I imagine I’ll be going down this route the next time I need a new boiler. It was just so utterly convenient. I’ve lost the will to live chasing after tradesmen in the past, I was spared from all of that malarkey, thankfully.
I’m not sure if BOXT were the first to market, but we’re clearly spoilt for choice today. What surprised me was how late to the party I actually was, because long before I discovered the new digital way of buying boilers, it was evidently already a popular service (based on the thousands of reviews)! The saying ‘sleeping under a rock’ came to mind.
Have you used one of these online boiler services?
Have you used any of the services listed above, or perhaps an alternative one? If so, please share your experience…
That’s all for today!
Stay hot! xo
